BPYO Auditions

The audition form and instructions will be available on March 15, 2023 at https://bostonphilyouth.getacceptd.com. There is a $15 audition fee (charged by Acceptd). If you are unable to pay the fee, please email bpyo@bostonphil.org and we will assist you.

Please prepare two contrasting pieces or movements of the highest level that showcase your musical and technical abilities. Pieces from different styles and time periods are encouraged. (Percussionists, please prepare something on timpani, snare, and mallets.)

Please also prepare the designated orchestral excerpts for your instrument, posted below. If you would like to substitute other excerpts from the standard repertoire, please email bpyo@bostonphil.org for approval. BPYO auditions may include an informal interview, to be scheduled separately after we receive your application. The excerpts for the spring 2023 BPYO auditions are listed below. The parts are available by clicking the links below. Please select, download, and print the appropriate part at your convenience.

The Eb Clarinet excerpt is an optional excerpt for clarinetists. English horn, piccolo, and bass clarinet excerpts are optional. Please bring an excerpt of your choice if you would like to audition on one of those instruments.
