This annual day-long rehearsal and performance workshop gives our students the chance to showcase their learning and connect with other young El Sistema musicians.
The Boston Philharmonic Crescendo! Program and the Conservatory Lab Charter School are excited to present the 4th Annual El Sistema Showcase! At this event each year, more than 300 El Sistema students come together for a thrilling day filled with music-making and connection. This year, the event will bring young musicians from 12 of Massachusetts' remarkable El Sistema music programs to meet, mingle and work together as musicians.
"At the heart of El Sistema is a simple idea - to use the classical music ensemble experience to promote positive social change in youth. This is brought about by providing intense music instruction to students, a focused purpose and direction which allows them to take ownership of the music making process, taking responsibility for both individual and group improvement and achieve success. One success builds on another and the belief in their abilities grows and has them aspire to have this success take place in other sectors of their lives."
—Diana Lam, Head of School at Conservatory Lab Charter School
