Dan has extensive experience negotiating mergers and acquisitions, leading company turnarounds and developing sales channels across a wide range of industries throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas.

In 2009, Dan founded Cool Foods LLC which seeks to develop unique, patent-based food items for major segments of the global food industry.

Prior to that, from 1995 until 2007 Dan was President and CEO of RISO Inc, the Americas operations of a Japanese public company focused on imaging technologies and document management solutions.
In his time leading Riso Inc, revenues increased from about $70m to $160m with direct and indirect locations throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

From 1979 until 1995, Dan held various senior leadership positions with Gestetner Holdings PLC, a diversified UK-based multinational with both business to business and business to consumer companies in a number of different industries throughout the world and sales in excess of a billion dollars. During his career with Gestetner, Dan assumed various leadership positions in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the US and Japan. Roles included sales, training, product management, marketing, business unit, division and subsidiary responsibility, and international troubleshooting and turnarounds. Ultimately Dan had responsibility for global strategy and business development. During his years in this capacity, he undertook in excess of 70 acquisitions or divestitures around the world.

Dan is one of the principal owners of Boston’s acclaimed L’Espalier restaurant, was a founding member of the Boston CEO Peer Group, one of the founders of the North American branch of the Reims Managenent School Alumni Association and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Philharmonic since 2005. Dan received a first class BA honors degree from Middlesex Business School in London, England and a first class “Diplome Nationale” with honors from the Centre D’Etudes Superieures Europeennes de Management in Reims, France.

Dan and his wife, Joanne, have two children and live in Boston’s Back Bay.
