About plans for the 2020-2021 season
September normally signals the start of the concert season in Boston, an exciting time of new beginnings as we anticipate the wonderful musical adventures in store. As we enter a concert season unlike any we have experienced before, we are reaching out to update you on our current status and plans as we move forward.
All of our concert venues have cancelled all performances through at least the end of November, 2020. We continue to hold dates for February through May of 2021, but whether we will be able to perform as an orchestra next spring remains very uncertain. We will announce programs and make tickets available as we are able to confirm arrangements.
Due to this uncertainty, we are suspending our subscription program for the 2020-21 season. If we are able to perform to a live audience at some point this season, we will make single tickets available, with first priority to our subscribers. We will also give subscribers first priority for subscriptions for the 2021-22 season when those become available.
We will continue to release archival video of previous performances on our YouTube channel and will keep you apprised of any live events (virtual or in person). We look forward to greeting you in the concert hall again when that becomes possible! In the meanwhile, we send you our warmest wishes for good health as we navigate these challenging times.

** Please note that all BPO performances on Thursday evening will be part of our Discovery Series. The traditional pre-concert lecture, which we call our Guide to the Music, will be interspersed throughout the performance.
*** Please note that all BPO performances in Saturday or Sunday will feature our traditional pre-concert lecture (called the Guide to the Music) approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes in advance of the performance. For Saturday evening concerts, this means that our pre-concert lecture will take place at 6:45pm. For Sunday afternoon concerts, this means that our pre-concert lecture will take place at 1:45pm. All lectures are held in the concert venue unless otherwise noted.
**** There will be no Guide to the Music prior to our BPYO performances though Maestro Zander often speaks for a few moments at the top of each of performance.
