Pamela Feo is the Boston Philharmonic’s Outreach & Publications Manager. She joined the organization at the start of the 2006/2007 season after completing an undergraduate degree in English and Music at Tufts University, where she also studied flute with Nina Barwell. She stayed on at Tufts to earn a graduate degree in Musicology, doing original research for her thesis on a fin-de-siècle French female composer. Pamela has previously interned at Boston Lyric Opera in the Education and Marketing departments, where she managed the production of a promotional video for the children’s opera series and designed an in-school opera program. At the BPO, Pamela manages, edits and writes for the program book and newsletter, organizes school groups to attend concerts and distributes complimentary tickets to organizations in underserved communities, and works on guest artist relations, including arranging master classes and completing visas for foreign artists. Her passions within the orchestra include giving new audiences the opportunity to hear music, and writing about the orchestra to provide new insights into the lives of the musicians and thereby further break down the barriers between audience and performer. Pamela has enjoyed the eye-opening adventure of working behind the scenes at an orchestra after years of studying music from an academic viewpoint, and she is thrilled to be a part of the team that brings the BPO’s vision to the Boston community and beyond.
