RADIATES out through the energy and passion of our players as they engage with the music. They don't play safe; they go for broke. They understand that music is a language of the heart and that they are called to express all it contains. They move their bodies with the music and dig their bows deep into the string.

IS EXPRESSED in the make-up of the orchestra, in the intermingling of professionals, amateurs, and students. Boundaries of level, age, and experience disappear as the players put intensity and passion into the music.

STIMULATES players to own the music and to contribute their insights freely to the conductor during rehearsals and even to stay beyond the end and practice their parts together.

IS MANIFEST in the lively pre-concert talks, where a majority of the audience shows up ninety minutes before the concert to hear the conductor unravel the meaning and shape of the music, in the context of the composer's era.

MOVED US, in the midst of an economic downturn, when arts organizations everywhere were reducing their offerings, to launch the Discovery Series for less experienced listeners who appreciate that the conductor turns to the audience between the pieces and explains the music.

INSPIRES us to donate returned and unused tickets to the homeless and the disadvantaged, who can be touched and encouraged by great music.

ANIMATES the audience and creates shining eyes. Feeling they are part of something extraordinary, people return concert after concert. It encourages the orchestra to reach beyond its regular following, educating those not yet exposed to classical music and enticing them to join us for our uplifting events.

PROPELS us to communicate joyously with players, audience members, staff, board members, and friends.

Passionate Music Making Without Boundaries--Imagining a world where music has the power to unite humanity, our vision gives us the courage to take risks that elevate contribution over commerce, like putting on a free concert in Carnegie Hall for the brave people of New York.
