Jeanne M. Colachico is a legal and human resources management consultant with more than 25 years of unique experience in strategizing and delivering human resources and legal solutions to management problems. Her firm, established in 2000 and located in North Andover, MA, offers legal advice on employment matters to senior executives and human resources managers as well as hands-on HR and legal expertise. She has developed a particular focus for conducting internal investigations in corporate settings as well as universities and colleges. In this context, Ms. Colachico frequently is retained to provide strategic planning and training on harassment , discrimination, and diversity issues for management, faculty, employees, and students on both Title VII and Title IX issues.

An attorney and senior HR professional, Ms. Colachico has previously held senior litigation positions as Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel, Employment Litigation, at FleetBoston Financial Group where she was responsible for providing employment law advice to 500 human resources professionals addressing employee relations and litigation issues involving 65,000 employees. She was also extensively involved with the integrations, implementation, and reductions in force associated with the merger and acquisition of financial institutions for that employer. While at FleetBoston, Jeanne was an initial founding member of FleetBank’s Diversity Council and served on that committee from 1995-2000.

Ms. Colachico was also responsible for the legal issues associated with the full range of employment-related matters for Arthur D. Little, Inc. in Cambridge, MA. In addition to providing legal advice to ADL senior management and human resources staff, these issues included the administration issue more than 25 pension plans and Employee Stock Option Plans, Institutional Review Board considerations, and international employee relations issues.

At Textron, Ms. Colachico held various senior human resources management positions including positions heading organizational development, affirmative action, training, and employee relations. During her tenure at Textron she also held the position of Assistant General Counsel and was responsible for a full range of corporate legal matters, including real estate, software licensing, federal contracting, environmental compliance and remediation, as well as employment-related matters.

Early in her career, Ms. Colachico held positions as an Equal Opportunity Specialist, Program Manager (Human Resources), and Assistant Counsel for the U.S. Department of Defense; she also worked at the Massachusetts Department of the Attorney General.

Ms. Colachico holds a juris doctor degree from Suffolk University School of Law, received a M.A. from Boston University, and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from Regis College. She also has earned Certificates in Business Administration from Babson College (Executive Education) and the Federal Procurement Institute/Judge Advocate General at the University of Virginia. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar.

Ms. Colachico has chaired or been a member of many professional and community boards, committees, and organizations, including membership on the Diversity Committee of the Girard School of Business and International Commerce, Merrimack College.

Ms. Colachico is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian and French. She has published numerous articles on employment law topics and has spoken on these issues throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico in both English and Spanish.

Music has been a life-long passion and avocation for Ms. Colachico. She is accomplished in piano, having studied classical and improvisational piano for many years. She also studied clarinet to play in youth orchestras and violin briefly at an early age. She frequently seeks out opportunities to replenish the soul through many types of musical productions.
