Carmen Denyes
Carmen Denyes is a Masters student at The Longy School of Music studying classical voice with Robert Honeysucker. Ms. Denyes is a graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Music and Interlochen Arts Academy. She has an active performing career and has been in roles and performances with Opera Columbus, and Cleveland Institute Opera Theatre, Longy School of Music Concert Series, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, The American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and soloist with Columbus Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, Ms. Denyes worked as the Artist Services Intern for the Boston Pops’ 125th Anniversary Season. Currently, she is working on an outreach project presenting interactive music presentations for children with communication disorders in Boston Area hospitals to encourage speech. Ms. Denyes is also serving as the new US director of “Family Focus Foundation, ” a non-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya that sponsors children and comes up with creative ways to provide sustainable income for their guardians. Ms. Denyes plans to pursue a degree in Speech Pathology in hopes to combine her passion for performing with finding new and innovative ways to effect people with the “power of a song”.
