Hobbies other than music: Golf is the hobby that takes up most my time.  I have lots of others.

Earliest musical memory: My mother singing to me in her rocking chair.

What's on your iPod?  I don’t have an iPod.  I have a collection of 12inch LPs.  If I had an iPod it would have recordings of my favorite classical musicians on it: Rostropovitch, Richter, Casals, Horowitz, Oistrakh, Fournier etc.

Other than performing music, I've always thought it would be fun to be a: Restaurant owner.

Who is one person from musical history (living or deceased) you'd like to have dinner with, and why? I think I’d pick someone entertaining with great stories to tell.  Maybe Piatigorsky.  He had an incredible life and was a true gentleman.

Funniest concert experience:  About 15 years ago, in Aspen, CO, the orchestra was performing the Immolation Scene from Gotterdammerung with Jane Eagland.  In Aspen the orchestra performed in a tent.  People would come and bring picnics to enjoy while they sat outside the tent on the lawn and listened to the concert.  Shortly after Ms. Eagland’s entrance, a dog outside the tent started howling.  Soon other dogs around the tent joined it.  There was a chorus of howling dogs that lasted a couple minutes.
